tea time

A cup of tea in the morning. Pink grapefruit, mandarin and lime flavoured tea to be exact. It turns the most magnificent shade of pink which I find most satisfying to look at and drink.

I'm very much looking forward to the weekend and what it will behold... The Auckland Art and craft Fair is happening tomorrow which is always a feast for the eyes and showcases all kinds of handmade goodies! If you're interested in the types of exhibits check our their blog for a taster of what's to come, and maybe I'll see you there tomorrow!
It is in the city's Aoetea Square and begins at 10am.

Happy Weekend!

A little piece of my heart

Some pictures from our trip south a few weeks back - the middle of winter and a morning frost makes for beautiful pictures. It was pretty crisp down there... isn't crisp such a great word?!

Anyway, it was a brief but lovely visit - A chance to catch up with family I don't get to see so much anymore. The farm has been in my family for over one hundred years so all the hills are familiar and I know the land like the back of my hand. We grew up here but I gradually grew away from it. Now it is sometimes a little sad to go back - all the memories from my childhood still lingering on the walls and  in the hallways of our old house. Going back makes me realise how much my life has changed, and every time we leave to travel back home I feel like a little piece of my heart is left behind.

nudes

And now for my first ever outfit post.... yay!
It has been awhile coming, mainly because I have been a little too shy but today I decided was the day. It's winter here in New Zealand and people tend to dress a bit darker in these colder months - but i still love wearing pale pastel colours. I'm wearing one of my favourite pink silk vintage shirts together with my newest closet item, a hooded trenchcoat. Top it off with my favourite oxford flats. Perfect for a sunny winters day!

We had a great time down on the farm. it was bitterly cold but so beautiful. I can't wait to share some photos soon.
I hope everyone has had a great start to their week x

Hello from a beautiful winters day in New Zealand! This picture reminds me of the view from our window in the early hours of thismorning - fog everywhere.

The husband and i are at this very moment about to embark on a wee adventure south for the weekend - down to our old family farm in the middle of nowhere! I can't wait to go for walks over all the big open hills and snuggle by the fire with a glass of wine in the evenings... ah, bliss! I will be back next week hopefully with some photos from our adventure!
Wishing you all a splendid weekend.

Do you remember this moment?

Hello readers! I hope everyone is having a great week.

As promised, here is another snippet from our wedding - towards the very end of an incredible day... Dinner was done and we were dancing when outside the barn there grew a beautiful glow. Everyone moved outside to join in and light a lantern - they were a precious surprise from my mother who had them sent to her from overseas. It was such a sight to see all of our friends and family sending up these big glowing lights into the sky to wish us well.
The perfect end to a more than perfect day!
